An anti-backlash gear comprises a gear-wheel 2 on which is rotatably mounted a coaxial annular disc 3 having teeth 4 of the same form as the teeth 5 of the wheel 2, the disc 3 being resiliently maintained angularly offset relative to the wheel 2 by conical helical springs 11 housed in recesses 10 in the wheel 2 and having their apices secured at 12 to the disc 3. A circlip 6 retains the disc 3 on the hub of the wheel 2. In use the gear is on the input shaft of a vehicle gear-box and meshes a pinion 1 on a main clutch output shaft.
