1295889 Austenitic steel BOHLER & CO A G GEB 9 Oct 1970 [9 Oct 1969] 48160/70 Heading C7A A fully austenitic steel comprises: C 0À001-0À2% Cr 15-25% Cu 0À01-3% Mn 0À25-10% Mo over 4-6% N 0À1-0À35% Ni 8-30% and Si Si 0À1-5% the balance, apart from impurities, being Fe. The alloy may be solution annealed above 1,000‹C. and quenched to give a yield point of at least 30 kp/mmSP2/SP and an extension of at least 35%. Uses Tubes, sheets, bars, heat exchangers (e.g. ships diesel engine waste gas coolers), stirrers or evaporators for use under corrosive conditions.
