摘要

Endurance tests of rolling contact bearings of conventional and high temperature steels were conducted at two temperature levels and at normal and high speeds. Test results indicate that the fatigue life of the high temperature steels is materially increased by vacuum melting. High speed ball bearings, alike in all respects except for ball diameter variations, were tested at high speed to study dimensional effect on endurance life. Results of the endurance tests indicate no correlation of individual bearing life with observed dimensional variations for the same bearings.
