1,235,763. Selective signalling. SANDERS ASSOCIATES Inc. 19 Sept., 1968 [20 Sept., 1967], No. 44546/68. Heading G4H. [Also in Division H1] In a cathode-ray tube indicator a mask is provided inside the tube apertured to produce graduated scales, e.g. 18, Fig. 1, alongside which rectangular bars, e.g. 20, can be projected, the bars having heights corresponding to the magnitudes of the items to be indicated. The graduated scales can be illuminated either by the electron beam during a normal horizontal roster, or by electroluminescent panels immediately behind them (Fig. 6, not shown). A block diagram (Fig. 4, not shown) is outlined for producing deflection voltages, controlling the illumination of selected scales, and for controlling the heights of the data representing bars, this being effected by comparing voltages having amplitudes representing the items of data with the vertical deflection voltage and blanking the beam at the appropriate time.
