A tensile testing machine for paper, cardboard, fabric, non-woven, etc, holds the test piece horizontally between two clamping terminals, after which the test specimen, together with these clamps, is completely immersed in the testing liquid. The testing force is applied along the continuation of the centre line of the test piece. The bath of liquid can be heated and agitated. Test conditions closely approach those of the actual process or operating conditions to be simulated.
