Improving adhesion to epdm compsn to metal substrate - using an epdm polychlorobutadiene blend as intermediate binder layer

Coating comprising a compsn. based on EPDM is adhesively bonded to a metal substrate with the aid of an intermediate layer comprising a blend of EPDM and polychlorobutadiene. After the top coating has been applied it is vulcanised in an autoclave, using saturated steam. Process is used for coating metal roller with firmly adhering rubbery coatings.
