Solvent cleaning compsns - contg organic solvents and isopropylamine salts of alkylbenzene sulphonic acids

Compsn. contng. 0-70% water, 0.2-91% isopropylamine salts of a mixture of linear 9-14 (mainly 11-12) C alkyl benzene sulphonates and at least 9% Stoddard solvent and/or 1,2,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane. Pref. the water content is 10% max., the isopropylamine salt content 0.25-5%. When using Stoddard solvent the alkyl gps. pref. consist of 50% C11 and 37% C12 gps., while with the halogenated solvent they pref. consist of 10-14 C gps., with 43% C11 and 33% C12. They will tolerate much higher propns. of water without breakdown or inversion of the water-in-oil emulsion. High propns. of expensive emulsifiers are not required. The emulsifiers used are highly efficient and biologically degradable. The cleaners are suitable for use on textiles and machines.
