Carved reproductions produced in metal or other materials from a master object or pattern which can be photographed to produce a contrasted image to be interpreted by equipment which reproduces the contrast patterns as contours machined or cut in a block of mastic/rubber/gel/plastic or similar. This contoured model acts as a mould or stamp for shaping e.g. wax, clay, plaster, ceramics, plastics or acrylic (self-curing) resins into objects which may be decorated, cleaned and polished. Use of photo-mechanical control can produce quick, cheap copies of a master object or scene for reproduction of carvings, medals, badges, coats of arms, escutcheons, jewellery, trinkets or models.
