Halogenation may be by Cl2,BRi,I2,SO2,Cl2, SOCl2, SCl2, S2Cl2, S2Br2 or POCl3. Suspension media may be inflammable and/or toxic, and also require cost of recovery. Economy is also found in a gas-solid reaction, e.g. by a fluidised bed.
