A sample of an organic material is irradiated by an electron beam of 1-90 keV energy which ionizes it and produces thermoluminescence. A photomultiplier measures the intensity of the latter and a thermocouple measures the temp. The maxima in the resulting curve of intensity versus temp. indicate increased molecular mobility and structural changes at certain temps.
