1372898 Moulding building panels J-P SAUNIER 7 March 1973 [8 March 1972] 11069/73 Heading B5A Panels comprising two parallel places coupled by spherical filler elements enclosing air therebetween are formed by placing a first plate in the base of a mould, coating the surface thereof turned away from the base with a bonding agent, filling the mould with the filler elements which have been previously coated with bonding agent so that air is entrapped therebetween and applying the second plate thereto, the face toward the filler elements having been previously coated with bonding agent, drying the bonding agents and removing the panel from the mould. The plates may be woven glass fibre sheets. The bonding agent may be a phenol-formaldehyde resin containing a catalyst, may contain a filler and may be applied to the external plate surfaces to receive further coverings, e.g. plaster. The filler elements may be expanded polystyrene balls. The mould is preferably heated to activate the catalyst. The panel may be used for thermal and sound insulating walls, partitions, ceilings or roofing.
