Automated freezing tunnel - for gentle handling of food products

The conveying of food products through a freezing tunnel is made entirely automatic, on a controllable time cycle and with a minimum of product transfer operations; a feed conveyor and a discharge conveyor are arranged in the same horizontal plane to be joined by each in turn of a set of storage belts contained entirely within the tunnel the storage belts are arranged like a set of shelves, one above another and spaced apart; the complete set of storage belts is vertically adjustable so that any belt can be brought to a product exchange position between load and discharge conveyors, while the other storage belts hold the product at rest as it freezes.
