Cross winding - using rocking guide unit to describe an x path to present tensioned yarn to rotating bobbin

The rotation of the drive roller to turn the cross-wound bobbin turns a shaft fitted with a grooved pattern which causes the guide unit to rock. This rocking action causes the guiding zone to describe an X path so that the tensed yarn is moved along in alternating directions within the limits of the bobbin to form the desired cross-winding. The purpose is to give an even winding under constant tension, at speeds of 700-1000 m/min and more without breakage.
