Cross wound bobbin winder has additional yarn guides at the reciprocating yarn guide with a deflector to give a temporary reduction in the winding width and prevent yarn build-up at the bobbin ends
The winder assembly, to form cylindrical cross wound bobbins (2), has a reciprocating yarn guide (3) with a guide eyelet (6) open at the top. An additional yarn guide (7,8) is at the reciprocating yarn guide (3), on both sides of the guide eyelet (6) and at a gap from it, extending over the movement plane (E2) of the guide (3). The deflector (9) of the winder assembly, is raised at set intervals by the operating unit (12) to move the yarn (F) into a second movement plane to lie alternately at one or other of the additional guides to be laid on the winding bobbin with a reduced reciprocating stroke movement. The deflector (9) is the edge of a guide plate (10), parallel to the axis (A) of the bobbin drive roller (1) and towards the reciprocating yarn guide (3). The guide plate (10) is connected to a swing axis (11), parallel to the drive roller axis (A). The operating unit (12) acts on the swing axis (11). The operating unit (12) is a pneumatic cylinder or a lifting magnet, which raises the deflector (9) at various height levels, in steps. Each of the yarn guides has a number of guide sections, in steps against each other. The guide steps are at increasing intervals from the guide eyelet (6) over the first reciprocating movement plane (E2). The deflector (9) can be a plate, clamped at one end, operated by a piezo-electric actuator to impose a curvature according to the strength of the applied voltage, to lift the deflector (9) to various height levels.
