1321205 Trocar assembly DOW CORNING CORP 12 Jan 1972 [1 Feb 1971] 1432/72 Heading A5R A trocar assembly comprises a first hollow generally cylindrical cannula 11, Fig. 3, having a second hollow generally cylindrical cannula, 12, Fig. 2, slidably mounted therein, the second hollow cannula 12 having a conical point 13 totally closing its distal end and an aperture 14 through its cylindrical wall adjacent the conical point. The first hollow cannula 11 abuts a shoulder 16 on the second hollow cannula 12 and is of such a length that when its proximal end abuts the shoulder 16 its distal end is adjacent the proximal end of the aperture 14. A flange 17 may be provided on the second hollow cannula to facilitate the application of thumb pressure, and the proximal end of this cannula may be screw-threaded to provide a connection for tubing. The distal end of the first hollow cannula may be tapered.
