Composite panel for concrete shuttering - with chipboard core, facing sheets, esp of double veneer and water repellant surface coatings

Method of making predominantly timber panels for concrete shuttering consists of facing a chipboard panel on both sides with wood, esp. of a different type such as two veneer layers (on each face) with their fibre orientations crossing each other; then applying a water repellant coating to each face. The panel is pref. made by hot pressing. The surface coatings are esp. hot-setting plastics, e.g. phenol aldehyde, diallyl phthalate or epoxy resin, with up to 25% glass fibres.
