A liq. or gaseous medium is mixed with a 2nd liq. pulverulent or gaseous medium by causing both media to flow along a spiral path together with an axial motion of the spiral. The pref. appts. comprises either a single spiral housing with a tangential inlet for one medium, with the 2nd medium feeding into the oulet which is axially placed on one side of the housing, or alternatively is constituted of two such spiral housings, the 1st discharging axially into the 2nd, from which the mixt. is axially discharged.
