摘要
In the reforming of hydrocarbons with H2 to improve octane ratings, the catalyst particles are (A) continuously withdrawn from the reactor and passed to a regenerator; (B) burnt off in a combustion zone to remove coke deposits, at least part of the flue gas being recycled to control the rate of burning; (C) halogenated in the next zone with steam and hal. in a molar ratio of at least 1:1, diluted with air, (D) dried in a further zone with hot air, and (E) treated with hydrogen at 427-649 degrees C before recycling to the reactor to keep the catalyst charge substantially constant. Temp. in (B) is pref. 399-510 degrees C the recycled flue gas contg. 0.1-1.5 mol.% oxygen and being washed to remove SO2. (C) is at 399-510 degrees C and chlorine is used in molar ratio of =1:1 with the steam (D) is at 399-621 degrees C. The process is esp. suitable for low-pressure reforming and avoids interrupting the reforming for replacement or regeneration of the catalyst.
