Dyeing of synthetic fibres of amino gps. - with alkali salts of dyes contg. carboxylic acid gps. and subsequent printing with acid pastes

The fibres are impregnated with an alkaline aq. dye bath dried and printed with an acid paste. After heat treatment at 100-260 degrees C the fibres are washed to remove unfixed dye. Fibres treated are pref. cellulose tri-acetate staple, aromatic polyesters or polypropylene. The printing paste pref. contains an excess of a heat-resistant acid, pref. sulphaminic acid. The dye bath may also contain an alkali-stable dispersion dye contg. no COOH gps. to give two-colour effects. A coloured pattern on a white or coloured background is obtd.
