Transfer printing of characters onto garments - using plain transfer sheet carrying heat transferable dye and heated blocks having a type face

A transfer printing device comprises a number of printing blocks having type faces and which are pref. mounted on associated radial arms which are pivotal on a common shaft. The arms can be pivoted to move the printing blocks into contact with a pref. thermostatically controlled heater plate and when heated to the correct temperature the arms are moved so that the type faces of the blocks are pressed against a garment which is pref. supported on a table and on which is superimposed a plain transfer sheet whereby heat transferable dye on the transfer sheet is imprinted on the garment in conformity with the character on the type faces. The printing blocks may have four type faces and pref. the position of the printing blocks on the bars is adjustable. The necessity of stocking a variety of transfer sheets for different designs or characters is eliminated.
