Such diseases include cowpox, smallpox, varicella, zoster, measles, rubella and Herpes Simplex infections. The invention is exemplified in particular with the last-mentioned infection. The expansion "temperature-sensitive" means that the virus has a cut-off temperature such that it is capable of multiplying in a "cold site" (i.e. at a site of an animal which is at a lower temperature than its internal organs) but will not multiply at sites within the body where the temperature is above the cut-off temperature.
