The feed mechanism has a reciprocating rocker arm actuated by a crank drive and connected with a movable thrust member via connecting rods. The rocker arm has a stationary axis about which it rotates, and has an operating crank which is coupled to the rocker arm by a connecting rod. An adjustable slide is associated with the rocker arm and is linked with the thrust member by a guide rod.
