摘要
A brittle cpd. such as a metal oxide, nitride, carbide, or hydride, is finely comminuted and then ground into a mixt with a ductile component until the latter covers separate particles of the brittle cpd. subsequently the latter is decomposed, e.g. by reducing roasting, so that a pulverulent metal compsn. suitable for shaping by the powder-metallurgical methods is obtd. combinations of starting materials specifically claimed are NiO-Ag and WO3-Ag, yielding NiAg and W-Ag alloys suitable for electric switches. This method is technically more convenient than the known methods used at present for incorporating ductile components into composite bodies produced by the powder-metallurgical methods.
