Composite sandwich panels - having resin sealed cellular metal cores to inhibit liquid pick up

Sandwich panels with a cellular core of ligh alloy where the cell surfaces are blocked with a crosslinkable (pref. epoxy) resin which can be cured together with the resin to impregnate glass fibre reinforced panels applied by hot presing to the surfaces of the core. The reinforced panels are coated externally with a thermoplastic resin, pref. polyester 12-15 m mu thick. Pref. the fibres reinforced layers are ca. 0.25 cm. thick.
