The drinking straw has, at 3/4 of its length an articulation which is normally formed by pleats in the straw's wall, thus the top and bottom sections may take any relative position. Its main advantage is to avoid the need of having to tilt the glass to reach the top of the straw with the mouth. As a preferred method of forming this articulation, a succession of alternate rigid and flexible annular zones is made in the tube's wall.
