1354410 Agricultural implements MASSEYFERGUSON Inc 15 July 1971 [29 July 1970] 33267/71 Heading A1B [Also in Division E2A] A fastenable pivotable structure comprises first and second members 10, 38 pivotally connected together for angular movement relative to each other about a pivot axis 78, each member having a structure defining an opening to receive a fastener 110, the openings be alignable by effecting angular movement of the members about the axis 78, and the fastener being capable of extending through the aligned openings. A cam 112 is mounted on the fastener and one of the members has structure providing a thrust surface engageable with the cam, and there are operating means, e.g. a handle 116 whereby angular movement of the cam can be effected. The arrangement is such that when the fastener extends through the aligned openings and the angular movement of the cam is effected the cam engages the thrust surface and effects relative angular movement about the pivot axis of the members whereby the fastener is gripped by the structure defining the openings. As shown, the member 10 is the main gang of a harrow and the member 38 is a folding wing of the harrow. The main gang 10 includes a gang beam 12 to which two standards 14 are attached. A plurality of discs 20 are rotatably supported by the standards 14 and a scraper 22 is also attached to the main gang 10. The folding wing 38 includes a gang beam 40 which carries standards 42 which rotatably support a plurality of discs 48, and a scraper 52 is attached to the wing. The structure attached to the main gang 10 includes two main plates 69 and 70 welded to the gang beam 12 and having openings for a hinge pin 78 and the structure attached to the folding wing 38 includes two main plates 73 and 74 which are welded to the gang beam 40 and which also receive the hinge pin 18. The openings for the fastening member 110 are provided in the plates 69 and 70, in the gang beam 12 and also in the plates 73 and 64. The opening in the plate 73 receives the cam 112 which is eccentrically positioned on the shank of the member 110; the other openings only receive the shank of the member 110 and hence rotation of the fastening member by means of a handle 116 moves the two structures apart causes binding of the shank in the openings. The cam 112 is attached to the member 110 by a pin 114 which extends from the surface of the cam so that when the member is rotated the pin 140 moves behind a bracket 118 and prevents the member from working out of the openings. To assist in moving the folding wing relative to the main gang a spring 82 or two springs is or are provided. A pair of brackets 120 and 121 are provided on the gang beam 40 to cooperate with a bracket 122 on the gang beam 12 for fastening the wing 38 in a transporting position by means of the member 110; the bracket 121 has an opening large enough to receive the cam 112 and a slot for passage of the retaining pin 114.
