Energy transfer to the liq. mixt. is higher on one side of a revolving partition, specif. a cylinder wall, than on the other side where the partition is heated by hot gases to a higher initial temp. Pref. a revolving cylinder is internally heated by hot gases, and is of metal having high thermal conductivity, elasticity and expansion, and has a wall thickness to give a low heat transfer value (up to 15,000 kcal/m2.h) on the heated surface and concentrate the heat energy continuously on a smaller surface part of the cylinder, for transfer thence to the mixt.
