Each piece in the layout is made of a strip or sheet coated with adhesive on one side and marked with road signs on the other. The material comprising the strip is supple, elastic, thick and is of a crepe like consistency. The layout includes one or more reserve rolls and one or more structural pieces made with the same materials, to represent level-crossings railways, bridges, car-parks and such like. Long stretches of ordinary roadway may be stored as rolls and special pieces are used for crossroads and T junctions.
