1403364 Electric storage batteries JOSEPH LUCAS (BATTERIES) Ltd 27 July 1972 [30 Oct 1971] 50535/71 Addition to 1087466 Heading H1B In a method of making electric storage batteries packs of battery plates and separators are placed within separate compartments of a thermoplastic battery box, plates in adjacent compartments are interconnected by a conductive slug 17 which extends through apertures in the partition wall 12 and respective common electrode extensions or lugs 14, 15 by resistance welding thereof, the battery box and a thermoplastics lid are each heated to soften the mating parts thereof and the lid is pressed on to the box. The conductive slug may be tapered at one end to facilitate insertion thereof and it may extend slightly beyond each of the respective lugs when disposed in position to interconnect the lugs.
