Appts. for repairing plastics coverings of skis uses a plastics wire and has a handle with fasteners enabling a roller to roll on the covering and smooth the applied plastics, and also attach a heating head, which guides the plastic wire, to the handle. Pref. the roller, freely rotatable in a support which is adjustable to limited extent on the hanle, if of nylon. The heating head is attached to a boom which is to be attached to the handle, and has a plastics bushing to guide the wire. Guiding of the applicator is made less tiresome, and the platics is better distributed.
