Repairing damaged plastic coating on ski - by placing plastics powder mass near damaged place, melting by heating, pushing along with application of pressure, and fusing-on

Plastics layer, esp. the plastic coating of a ski, is repaired by placing a fusible plastics mass on the coating and heat-bonding the plastics by melting-on with application pressure. The plastics mass is pushed along the coating to be repaired, in shape of a heap, the trailing portion of the heap and a relatively small portion of the coating behind it being continuously melted by heating so that the resulting melt from the rear end of the plastics heap can be pressed onto the simultaneously formed melt of the coating. Pref. the plastics heap comprises a plastics powder or a plastics pasty dispersion. The material providing the heaped mass is similar to that of the coating being repaired low pressure polyethylene is suitable for both.
