Adaptable wheel for differing road conditions - has two tyes of different design or special double tyre on wheel rim

The wheel has a two-part tyre, each part having different design or fitting of tyre tread. Different tyre pressures can be applied to each part. The more commonly used part of the tyre projects beyond the other part and the drive is applied to this part. Commonly a summer tyre tread and winter or cross country tread are provided. Provisions can be made for fitting and removal of spikes. The design can use two separate tyres or a combined tyre with a separating wall. A special wheel rim is provided and four different designs are shown. In all cases, the outher rim can be separated from the innter rim.
