Tapered bent frp pipe - of uniform wall thickness

A tape or strand or reinforcement, e.g. fibre glass is wound round a tapered mandrel. The assembly is fitted in an elastic outer mould of rubber or plastic and the mandrel removed from the core of reinforcement. The outer rubber mould is then placed in a rotary drum and liquid resin of thermosetting plastic is cast in the drum. The rotary drum is rotated such that the larger diameter part of the tapered mould is situated at higher position, so that liquid resin is distributed uniformly. Before the thermosetting resin is perfectly cured, the outer mould is removed from the drum, and bent to deform the reinforcement in a suitable device. After the impregnated fibre glass is sufficiently cured or set, the bent FRP pipe is removed from the elastic mould. Used for telegraph poles etc.
