Computer controlled forging link line - comprises transfer device linked furnace, forging and edging presses

Fully automatic press forging system comprises a preheating furnace, a single or multi die forging press and an edging press. The workpieces are transferred by a loading device from the furnace to the forging press. In this a turning-over device is provided for turning the workpieces over in the dies and a second of these transfers them to the edging press. End-of-operation signals from each working station are processed by a computer which coordinates the various operational steps of the system. The system results in high specific output from the various plant items and by reasons of its requiring no operators saves expensive guards on the various pieces of equipment.
