Spindle press with overload guard - spindle nut lifts axially against hydraulic or pneumatic load

The spindle is driven by a friction wheel which presses against a wheel at the end of the spindle. The spindle nut is secured against rotation but has axial play. The nut is mounted with sealing rings in the press frame. The axial space above the spindle nut is connected via a one-way valve to a pump and to an overload valve. When the press die hits the workpiece, the reaction force will be taken up by the hydraulic or pneumatic loading on the nut.
