A portable vulcanizing press for very wide conveyor belts has two electrically heated platen, the lower one stationary and the upper one movable by pressure spindles or hydraulic cylinders. In addition to the two uprights at the end of the plates, several tie rods are arranged between them. The holes which are pierced for them in the belt are later closed by cold vulcanizing. The plates of such a vulcanizing press can be designed much lighter; the press is portable even for extra wide belts of over 3000 mm.
