Automatic safety release for seat belts - has cartridge release which explodes by heat of burning vehicle or after large inertial force

The safety release device releases the belt when the vehicle catches fire and the occupants are able to free themselves. The anchor has a cartridge whose explosive charge is ignited due to heat. The anchor is disconnected when propellent gases eject a pin which holds the belt anchorage in the bracket so that rings are pushed outwards and separated. The charge is initiated by a mechanism which has a low melting point plug made for example from wax, paraffin wax or a material which is readily ignited. The plug releases the firing pin, and is used in conjunction with a post-impact inertial release.
