Anti-dazzle technique for approaching vehicles - involves the use of mirrors allowing the driver to see forward without being dazzled

Dazzling is counteracted by the driver transferring his line of vision from that of the oncoming vehicle to a field of vision where the mirrors render tolerable the effect of the headlights. In one design a periscope type arrangement of two mirrors is employed. In a second design a mirror is angled in the vehicle near the top of the windscreen. The oncoming headlight beam passes through a darkened film before striking the mirror and the driver's eyes. The mirror need only be darkened in that region which is struck by light dazzling to the driver.
