Controlling space occupied by castings - using investment casting process and a templet moving along a vertical axis

In an investment casting process, the space occupied by a connecting piece/shaping element assembly (I) is regulated by a templet e.g. a ring which is moved along a vertical shaft supported on part of a conical head which supports (I). The templet is then replaced by a cylindrical jacket and (I) is embedded in a hardenable refractory material which fills the jacket; the conical head is removed, and the remainder is heated to a temp. at which calcinable and fusible materials are eliminated. The castings are formed by supplying molten material to the space left by the conical head in the refractory material and which communicates with the cavities formed by the eliminated materials.
