Testing method for glass sealing for windows - involves cyclic application of compression shearing and tension loads

Sealing material samples of accurate dimensions and shape are held in frames and subjected to cyclical compression, tension and shearing loads. The two frames are rectangular and one fits inside the other with a gap between them, and they can be moved in a plane relatively to each other; pieces of a contact material of the same size are placed between the frames at the middle parts of their sides and same size pieces of the tested material are placed between the pieces of contact material. Both square frames are horizontally placed in a climatic test cabinet, and one of the frames is cyclically moved to-and-fro.
