Workpiece transfer machining process - has separate forward and backward feed tracks with waiting station and alternating programmed grips

Transfer device for workpieces held in accompanying clamping fitments, with which the workpieces are fed to a machining process. The transfer device has separate forward and backward feed tracks for the clamping fitments at each machine tool point, and in the forward feed track a waiting station is provided from which the passing on of a clamping fitment occurs automatically dependent upon the return feed of the previous clamping device from the machining position. Two alternating programmed grips for the clamping device are provided. Retainers are provided for the clamping fitments, and a rotatable delivery plate which can be switched in on corresponding paths.
