Tubeless tyre with sidewall reinforcing - having ply layer secured between reinforcing rings holding tyre to rim

The side walls of the tubeless tyre are fitted with reinforcing rings running around the edge of the tyre. These hold the tyre on the wheel rim. The ply insert layers are secured in the edges of the tyre by dividing the reinforcing rings into two layers, with each layer having the same shape and strength. The ends of the play layers are clamped between the two sets of reinforcing rings and thus eliminate the need for looping the ends of the layers over the rings. The loops could otherwise lead to tyre walls splits and reduce the flexibility of the tyre.
