A rectangular frame is divided into two by a horizontal partition. The base and the partition are provided with rails on which travel small trolleys carrying vertical racks containing a number of small drawers. At each end of the frame is a small lift which can transfer the racks from the partition to the base and vice-versa. The sub-assemblies to be tested are placed in the drawers and travel to the lift where they are brought in line with the necessary electrical connections held stationary for a moment by suitable electrical switching, tested and then carried to the base and away to the other side of the frame where they are removed.
