Encased resistance element for heating appliances, has a resistance element mounted in a metallic tube (1) bent into a curve at its middle to form two parallel branches (2, 3), a rectilinear longitudinal fin (10, 11) being mounted on each branch, these fins (10, 11) being parallel to each other. The fins are formed from two plates of aluminium (12, 13) each having in its central part a groove (14, 15) parallel to the longest side of the plate. When the two plates are assembled together these grooves (14, 15) form a central tube in which is lodged the resistive element. The plates are fixed together by rivets.
