The mooring system is aligned at right angles to a quay or pontoon, and has a float or buoy at its outer end. The inner end of a beam is fastened to the pontoon via a hinge joint section so that it is freely vertically movable about a horizontal shaft. It is also limitedly horizontally movable via an elastic bearing element between the axia dn joint section, and via a load-absorbent rod with double-acting force-absorbing characteristics. The inner rod end engages on the pontoon, while its outer end engages similarly on the beam, via joints with vertical axis. The outer end of the beam is carried by a flat or bouy.
