Variable output generator of a flow of air rich in negative ions with regulatable density between electropositive and electronegative particles, comprising a casing open at each end within which is fitted (i) a central disintegrating chamber having shielding walls and containing a radioactive element and (ii) lateral ventilating and selection chambers, the transverse walls of the disintegration chamber being partly open and each wall having a front protective plate off-set relatively thereto, while at least one of the openings has externally operated variable closure means. Screens off penetrating radiation from the user while permitting the use of beta-radiation.
