摘要
Physiological algaes are decoloration by subjecting the cultures to the action of light at 25-40 degrees C for 18-66 hrs. in the presence of a source of carbon in the culture medium. The biomass is pref. grown in the presence of air, light. CO2 and carbohydrates. The decolouration may be effective in the presence of air, light, carbohydrates and cellulosic bacteria which degrade the complex polysaccharides of the cells walls. The process is suitable for treatment of the algae Euglena gracillis, Phylum cyanophyta and those of the genus Nostocales. A temp. of 35 degrees C is esp. pref. in the process. The colour of algeas is reduced in a more effective manner than achieved by the intestinal degradation of ruminants.
