1411413 Iron oxide sintering process CENTRO SPERIMENTALE METALLURGICO SpA 24 July 1972 [7 Aug 1971] 34457/72 Heading C1A An iron oxide blast furnace sinter is produced by controlling the degree of oxidation by means of the following mathematical correlation which calculates the per cent of FeO contained in the agglomerate as a function of values which are easily measured during the process. The equation used is in which:-I.B. is the basicity index of the agglomerate in terms of the CaO : SiO 2 ratio; #C is a measure of the CO/CO + CO 2 ratio of the combustion products; T is the maximum temperature in the suction box; a, b and g are numerical coefficients calculated, with the constant on the basis of experimental results. Any change in heat input or coke content to achieve the desired per cent FeO value is calculated by means of further mathematical correlations given in the Specification.
