TAPE EXTRACTOR FOR MAGNETIC TAPE CARTRIDGE SYSTEM

A tape extractor for automatically extracting a magnetic recording tape from a tape reel cartridge; the extractor has a retractable coiled metal or plastic band with a hook at its distal end which enters a single reel magnetic tape cartridge and hooks into the leader of a magnetic tape and withdraws the tape leader to a point at which the leader is engaged by a drive capstan and pinch roller and is automatically withdrawn from the extractor hook and fed through the recorder.
