Purified immunoglobulins (Ig) are obtd. by treating Ig prepns. with an amt. of complement Clq factor or rheumatic factor (RF) sufficient to eliminate the aggregates the rein. The aggregates are eliminated without loss of normal globulisn (cf. proteolytic treatment), giving prepns. which can be administered intravenously or intramuscularly without the risk of anaphylactic shock or local inflammation.
